ITB Syndrome
Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS) is a relatively common condition involving the Iliotibial band (ITB). The ITB is crucial in stabilizing the knee. When the ITB becomes tightened it creates a lateral tension along the outside of the leg. This tension can create pain in the knee, hip and leg. ITBS is common among runner's, cyclists, pregnant women, and the elderly. Active Release Techniques® (ART®) has been proven to be a very effective treatment for ITBS. Our team at Summit Integrated Health Centre is fully qualified in treating Iliotibial Band Syndrome.
