Shin Splints
Shin splints are an often very painful condition in which the muscles that run along the front of the lower leg become tightened and fibrotic. Usually pain and inflammation is a result of this situation and left untreated may progress into a stress fracture of the Tibia bone. This condition is very common among individuals who are involved in activities that require constant use of the lower leg musculature. Runners, jumpers, Volleyball and Basketball players are commonly subject to Shin splints. Active Release Techniques® (ART®) is a very effective treatment for Shin splints. Our team at Summit Integrated Health Centre is fully trained and qualified in treating Shin splints.
