Whiplash
Whiplash aka WAD (Whiplash Associated Disorders) is a condition that involves the soft tissue structures of the neck and spine. During a Whiplash the neck is bent forward and backwards at a high rate of speed. During this situation, the muscles, ligaments and tendons along the spine may be damaged. This condition is very common in rear-ended motor vehicle collisions although any situation that mimics this can very easily create the same condition. Treatment for this condition involves a very thorough assessment and then a comprehensive step by step approach to treat the damaged structures. Active Release Techniques® (ART®) has been very effective in treating WAD injuries. Our team at Summit Integrated Health Centre are fully qualified in assessing and managing all WAD injuries.
